Working in the vineyard today working up the soil, preparing to plant a cover crop, I was totally intoxicated by the smell of the soil - just beautiful, full of complex fungi smells that give our wines that forest floor perfume that they so often have. The chooks rush in as the tractor and I pass, almost saying 'thank you' for all those delicious worms. It's at moments like these that the magic of biodynamic farming is so evident.
